Last week we had the Premier of NSW, Gladys Berejiklian, and the state’s Ministers here for a Community Cabinet session. They saw a lot over 2-3 days and I would like to publicly thank many for their hospitality and time.

I thank the kids of New City Cricket Club,  the school principals who met with the Education Minister – and particularly staff and students of James Fallon High School; management, staff and those in aged care at Culcairn hospital (MPS); staff at Corowa TAFE (and the English language students); Corowa’s Whisky & Chocolate Factory.

Returning to Albury, I express my appreciation and thanks to management and staff of Albury Wodonga Health – especially those working in mental health – and the Sisters of Mercy; Bob and the IGA store owners; management and staff of Public House, the Commercial Club, and a host of local restaurants and cafes along Dean St; the Atura Albury.

All who attended the community morning tea, representing so many volunteer organisations as well as essential services such as police, SES, paramedics, fire and councils.

And to those who took a moment off from their hard work to show the Premier and Ministers around: the road gang putting in safety railings on the Riverina Highway; workers at Spitwater and Ettamogah Rail Hub; staff at Albury Racecourse, ending with airport staff who are getting on with their jobs midst major redevelopment.

Finally, thanks also to the Border Mail and local media reporters who kept up a valuable commentary and who asked the tough questions.
