The NSW Government is rolling out a series of substantial grants for regional projects, suitable for applications from councils, sports clubs, cultural organisations, schools, industry and more.

“This is happening right now,” said Greg Aplin, Member for Albury. “Grant applications can be difficult and time consuming, so I have arranged for the team from Sydney to run an information session in Albury so local invited people and organisations can be well prepared to take advantage of the new grants under the NSW Government’s new Regional Growth Fund.

“I have invited Deputy Premier John Barilaro, who is also Minister for Regional NSW, to come to Albury for the roadshow on Friday 18 August,” said Mr Aplin. “That’s how important I believe this is, and why you should be there on behalf of your organisation if possible.”

The NSW Government is investing $1.3 billion in regional areas through various funds:

Stronger Country Communities Fund – supporting councils and community groups to deliver crucial local infrastructure to improve quality of life

Regional Cultural Fund – delivering investment to support bold and exciting regional arts and culture

Regional Sports Infrastructure – supporting participation and high achievement in sport for regional NSW communities by improving facilities

Growing Local Economies – unlocking economic potential by building or upgrading power, transport and telecommunications links and water and sewerage services

Connecting Country Communities – investing in better mobile phone and internet connectivity to support businesses and families living and working in regional areas and drive regional productivity.

The funds will enable regional communities to grow, draw in more investment and attract skilled workers.

The funded projects will be led by the regional communities and applications are invited from local governments, regional organisations, industry and other community bodies.

At the session you can find out which types of projects will be eligible, how to apply and how you can get help to make an application.
